B. Halsey of Administrator of Absolem TADLOCK Decd. STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA Know all men by these presents, That we Joseph B. Halsy, Benjamin Mullen & John Robins are held firmly bound unto James Irdell Governor of the said State, and to his successors in office, in the just and full sum of one thousand Dollars, to be paid to the Governor, his Succeessors or Assigns: To the which payment well and truly to be maid, we do find ourselves, each of us, and each of our Heirs, Executors, Administrators and Assigns, jointly and severally, firmly by these Presents. Sealed with our Seals, and dated in Hertford, this 11th day of February One Thousand Eight Hundred and 28. The Condition of this obligation is such, that if the above bounden administrator of all singular the gods and chattels, rights and credits of Absolem TATLOCK, deceased, do make or cause to be made, a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the goods and chattels, rights and credits of the deceased, which have or shall come to the hands, knowledge or possession of the said Joseph B. Halsy - or into the hands or possession of any person or persons for him, and the same so made, do exhibit, or cause to be exhibited into Perq. County Court, within the time prescribed by law, after the date of these presents; and the same goods, chattels and credits, and all the other goods, chattels and credits of the deceased, at the time of his death, which at any time hereafter shall come into the hands or possession of the said Jos. B. Halsy or into the hands or possession of any other person or persons for him, do well and truly administer according to law; and further do make, or cause to be made a true and just account of his said administration agreeable to law, and after the date of these presents; and all the rest and residue of the said goods, chattels and credits, which shall be found remaining upon the said administration account (the same being first examined and allowed by the Governor and Council Superior or County Court) shall deliver and pay unto such person or persons respectively, as the same shall become due, pursuant to the true intent and meaning of the act in that case made and provided. And if it shall appear that any will or testament was made by the deceased, and the Executor or Ececutors therein named, do exhibit the same in Court, making request to have it allowed and approved accordingly, if the said Joseph B. Halsy above bounden, being thereunto required, do render and deliver the said letters on administration (approbation of such testament being first had and made in the said Court) then this obligation to be void otherwise to remain in full force and virtue. William Robinson, William Stanton & James Brothers are held and firml bound unto his excellency David L. Swain Esquire, Governor, Captain General and Commander in Chief of the State aforsaid, in the full and just sum of Two hundred dollars, to be paid to his excellency the Governor, his Successors or Assigns: To which payment will and truly to be made, we bind ourselves out heirs, execotors and administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. Term 1833 Guardian to Absalum TATLOCK heirs hath neglected to appear at our said County Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions held the second Monday of Feb 1844 then and there to ex____? his ___? as guardian aforesaid, as by law he was required to do. These are, therefore, to command you that you make known to the said Wm. Robinson that he personally be and appear before the Justices of our County Court of Pleas and Quarter Session, to be held for the County of Perquimons on the second Monday in May next, then and there to show cause, if any he has, why he did not appear at the said Feb. Term, 1844 and as guardian to the said heirs and this he shall in no wise omit, under the penalty of the law. Witness, Jos. M. Layden of the second part. Witnessed that for & inconsideration of one hundred and eighty dollars to him paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, has bargained, sold and conveyed and by these presents do convey to the said A. M. F. Layden heirs and asigns his right title and interest in and to a certain track or parcil of land of which he ___? from his mother in Perquimans Co. NC adjoining the land of Jas. W. Mullon and ohters containing by Estimate fifty Three acres more or less bound as follows on the N. by the lands of J. W. Mullon on the west by the main road leading to Woodville on the S(south). by T (or F.). E. Nichols and the east by the Maine Road.
