Jocelyn Whedbee Applewhite, 97, passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007. 
Born in Hertford, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Mabel Martin 
Whedbee and Charles Whedbee and was the widow of Robert Oscar Applewhite. 
Mrs. Applewhite was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church for many years. 
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Robert W. Applewhite of Norfolk 
and John S. Applewhite and his wife Eli of Richmond; and four grandchildren, 
Ellery R. Applewhite, Thomas W. Applewhite, S. Caslin Applewhite and Sarah 
Lin Applewhite. 
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Andrews Episcopal 
Church by the Rev. Fr. Cathy McKinney. 
Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in Holy Trinity Episcopal Church Cemetery in 
Hertford, N.C. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to 
Holy Trinity Episcopal Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 125, Hertford, NC 
27944. Cox Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
