Obituary of Evelyn Colson Sawyer ~ 2007

Evelyn Colson Sawyer, 83, of the 400 block of White Hat Road, Hertford, died 
Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007 at Albemarle Hospital. 

Mrs. Sawyer was born in Perquimans County and was the daughter of the late 
Charlie and Gladys Williams Colson. 

She had retired from Don Juan Manufacturing Co., and was a member of Berea 
Church of Christ. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William 
Levia Sawyer and brothers Sterling and Shaffer Colson. 

Surviving are four daughters, Dianne Pazzanese of Nags Head and Audrey Nixon,
Margaret Bass and Rita Chappell, all of Hertford; one son, Douglas Sawyer also 
of Hertford; a sister, Margaret Lister, of Norfolk Va., two brothers, "Charlie 
Boy" Colson, Jr. and Ashton Colson, both of South Mills; 15 grandchildren, 24 
great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Berea Church of Christ by 
the Rev. Ira K Furrow. 

Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home and 
Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, handling arrangements. 

The family will be 
receiving friends at the residence.
