Registered the 12th day of January 1698/9 by me John Stepney Register of writings for
Perquimans Precinct.
[notes by jjt. From the North Carolina Historical and Genealogical Register, Vol. 3. No. 1
January 1903 (E369) this note regarding Lawrence Consolvoe. “Lawrence Consolvoe of
Perquimans Precinct, was the ancestor of Hon. Furnifold M. Simmons, at present U.S. Senator
from North Carolina. Lawrence Consolvoe’s daughter, Hannah Consolvoe, married about 1687
Furnifold Green from whom Senator Simmons takes his Christian name.” Logically, Ann Hogg,
Mary Pierce, and Hannah Green should be sisters and, if Hathaway is correct about the father
of Hannah Consolvoe, daughters of Lawrence Consolvoe. This Mary Peirce is Mary Kent. The
will of Lawrence Gonsolvo (sic), 25 Dec 1687 from the NC Archives did not clear up the mystery.
The signatures of the grantors appear to be marks rather than signatures. The deed is not the
original deed but a copy.]
