Notes from Lois Clark:
You have Josh Smith, 1859, Aug 15 1924. His name was Joseph H. Smith. The marker
reads: Jos. H. Smith. (This was corrected) His wife, Delphina Smith, is listed above him.
The two graves before them are listed as unmarked. The next marked grave listed before
them is that of John A. Smith. The markers of the family look to have been made by writing
the names and dates in concrete. They are hard to figure out what was written on them. On
his marker you have John Smith, Oct 3 1847, Jan 2 1931. According to his NC Death
Certificate the dates given for him were: Jul 3 1857 and Jan 24 1931. The unmarked grave next
to him might be that of his wife, Dorothy Parks Smith. According to her NC Death Certificate
her birth and death dates were: 1857 and Feb 19 1915. The grave listed above John Smith is
Bert Smith. He was the son of John A. and Dorothy Parks Smith. The grave listed above Bert
Smith is Mary L. Smith. She was the wife of Bert Smith and the daughter of Joseph H. and
Delphine Smith. You have Mary L. Smith, Dec 18 1895, Jan 16 1955. According to the NC
Death Certificate for Mary Elizabeth Smith the date of her death was Jan 16 1965.
